“ Manhattan has a lot of hidden food halls scattered around and this hidden gem is located in one of them. Such a great discovery. Ive been here a few times and the scallion pancake burritos never disappoint. ”
“ Really enjoyed the scallion pancake burrito! The pork was wellseasoned, the guacamole smooth, the queso frito crispy, and the lemongrass chili crisp oil added a very creative touch, bursting with flavors. The tostone was perfect for snacking crispy on the outside, yet firm and chewy in the middle. The green sauce was refreshing, so good for cutting through the grease. ”
“ So delicious! Got the original and the chicken burrito and each was distinctive and good. The burrito looks small compared to actual burritos but I find one quite filling on its own. They were really flavorful and highly recommend them. Also got the coconut milk thai tea and its not my favorite, but if you like coconut milk you might feel differently. ”
“ This restaurant is located inside the Olly Olly market. A little hard to get to since there are no trains nearby but TOTALLY WORTH THE COMMUTE. It was my first time trying a scallion pancake. But the scallion pancake as a burrito with grilled chicken, WAS AMAZING. The lemongrass sauce has just the right amount of kick. I also tried the scallion pancake pernil burrito and the scallion pancake plantains mangu burrito and All were soooo good. The food was made fresh so it took about 1015 minutes to get from the time we ordered. I also appreciated the owners patience and warmth explaining the various dishes and flavors to me. ”
“ Our fam of 5 drove in from Jersey just for the scallion pancake burrito. So worth it. Husband and I have been before and have been craving it since. Finally brought kids and they loved it. The flavors are so good together just the right amount of saltiness and heat. Combination of Asian and Latin is perfection. Matthew was very accommodating and friendly. Cant wait to go back! ”
“ I have been waiting to try these scallion pancake burritos for years and I am SO happy I finally made it! The lemongrass chicken was delectable, it had so many levels of flavor. Did not need any extra sauce personally, it was mouthwatering on its own! Not too greasy either, the cilantro lime rice cut the oil really well. Also had a chance to speak briefly with the creator Isabel and she was the sweetest human. Overall couldnt be more happy with the experience. ”
“ Getting to Olly Olly Market is quite a chore if you are lucky you can get the M23 Select Bus Service, the M12 or a quick walk from Hudson Yards, but I think there is a interesting mix of vendors plus great events that gets to me to return. Forsyth Fire Escape is one such stall. Because it is a stall and not a full blown restaurantkitchen, I knew to level set my expectations. Things will come out slower because you have to a small number of people to work safely and efficiently in such a small space. I think Forsyth is worth a try because it does a good job in trying to blend delicacies together. The Dominican, Chinese and Thai influences are present in every bite but they are not too overwhelming. A fresh burrito is crispy and the cheese melds with the pork Pernil and the lemon grass chili crisp oil. Though I have to say that the bowl is becoming more of my favorite. It comes with a side of scallion pancakes so you dont feel like youre missing out. My favorite part is the service. When my order had to be changed because an ingredient was missing, they made sure to tell me of my options and gave me an empanada for the trouble. I got to try the chicken for the first time and I gained an appreciation for the hardworking team. I would definitely come back. ”
“ An amazingly chill spot where you can meet the owner and have an hour long conversation about their inspiration for the restaurant and where they come from, all while enjoying a pulled pork scallion pancake burrito. Crispy outside, tender, juicy filling with such a strong flavor profile its hard to know where to start. I recommend coming and trying out the flavors for yourself. Amazing coconut Thai milk tea to finish off the meal. Will definitely come back when Im in the city again. ”
